S&P Global Just Said What We've Been Thinking
Five consecutive green days. IonQ +4%. D-Wave +5%. Rigetti +3%.
But forget the tickers for a second.
The smartest analysts on Wall Street just put it in writing.
🚨 S&P Global: "2026 Is Triggering Change"
S&P Global 451 Research dropped a report this week that should be on every quantum investor's desk.
The numbers:
$55 billion in global quantum investment in 2025.
$9 billion projected market revenue in 2026, up from $2.5 billion in 2025. That's 260% growth in one year.
76% of enterprise respondents now believe quantum computing will deliver material value within five years.
The analysts didn't mince words: "Only a few months into 2026, the quantum computing industry has been catalyzed: M&A activity is surging, investment continues to grow... and deployment and commercial conversations are increasingly supplanting hypotheticals."
Then the kicker: "2025 ignited interest. 2026 is triggering change."
This isn't a Seeking Alpha blog post. This is S&P Global telling institutional allocators that quantum computing is no longer a lab-stage curiosity.
🔒 Xanadu Halted Four Times. Yes, Four.
Toronto-based Xanadu triggered four separate circuit breakers on the TSX today.
The stock is up 360% in a week. Market cap just crossed $10 billion, making Xanadu Canada's fifth-most valuable public tech company.
CEO Christian Weedbrook, early investor OMERS, and Georgian now each hold billion-dollar stakes.
Why the explosion? Xanadu uses photonics for quantum computing. No need for the ultra-cold environments other systems require. Room temperature operation. Simpler. Cheaper to scale.
The company made DARPA's second stage for its 2033 quantum verification competition. They've published four papers in Nature documenting breakthroughs.
Early investor Michael Hyatt: "There's an understandable exuberance for the business because if the technology pans out, it's a game-changer. If quantum pans out to what we think it will be in the next few years, the stock is wildly undervalued."
Most of the float is locked until September. When that unlocks, watch out.

Five straight days. Nvidia's Ising models are now confirmed 2.5x faster and 3x more accurate than previous quantum calibration methods. The institutional case keeps strengthening.
Why This Week Is Different
S&P Global doesn't publish reports for retail traders. They publish for the allocators managing trillions.
When their analysts write that quantum is "catalyzed" and 2026 is "triggering change," that's not hype. That's a signal to institutional desks that the thesis is maturing.
Xanadu hitting $10 billion in a week shows what happens when scarcity meets momentum. The US pure-plays have larger floats. But they also have the same fundamentals driving this move.
The window where quantum was "too early" is closing.
